Yesterday (July 29 2012 ) was a day to remember! I sighted my first spyhopping Orca whale! An adult spy-hopped and all I could see was white! It was crazy! I was lucky enough to get some footage of a baby spyhopping next to mum. (which I will try and post a link to at some point…) I also got some footage of mum and baby doing tail slaps! See a short video clip:

After a busy day of watching the orcas foraging… I was lucky enough to see a humpback breaching on the Johnstone Strait! It breached about 4x in a row and I was lucky enough to capture a clip on video!

The evening was amazing with a pink sunset and the A11′s foraging by the hut. Momoko and I heard the A11′s calling above the water! Their calls echoed through Blackney pass and the Johnstone Strait very loud and clear… there were no boats in the area so absolutely no boat noise. It was a very special moment.
A photo of the evening sky just before the pink sunset (which I captured on video…)
We’ll be offering this trip summer 2011 through Northern Edge Algonquin Come and join us! Meeting at Grundy Lake Provincial Park and paddling along the rugged Northern shores of Georgian Bay until arriving in Killarney’s beautiful landscape, this journey will inspire you to “Live in the Moment”
I enjoy the beauty of being outside in nature. There is something amazing about the quiet and stillness that happens when I am alone in the wild. I have been very happy to explore the little patch of green-land near my temporary home in Mississauga, Ontario (while I am in school taking the Advanced Television and Film program at Sheridan college). I have enjoyed cross country skiing by the river and finding time in my busy schedule to breath and just be. On January 17th I took some photos… it was an early morning ski and I felt like I was in a winter wonderland. It was so relaxing with the soft morning light peeking out… I felt so calm and free…
We had a great time kayaking in the spring of 2010 around Vancouver Island. Take a peek at the video we made. We encountered some amazing sea lions and humpback whales. We didn’t get the whales on camera but we did catch the sea lions! Watch the video with footage of us Kayaking around Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I’m visiting my good friend Gillian MacDonald here in beautiful Jasper, Alberta. She’s been living here for a few years… and she loves it here. I was taking my Wilderness First Responder course in Whitefish Montana from May 17-21st and realized that I was only a few hours away from Jasper. I asked Gill if I could come and visit for the weekend and she was very happy to have me. Today – May 24th – I took the Tram up Whistler Mountain and I hiked to the peek. Jasper is a special place and the Tram is an easy way to get up high and get an amazing perspective of the little town nestled in the rocky mountains. I took a few photos and I took a self portrait of myself using a 10 second timer on a rock. It was pretty neat to go up on my own and for only a few moments I had the mountains to myself. It was incredible.
Canadian Rockies in Jasper, Alberta – May 24, 2010
Visiting Thunder Bay and enjoying some skating on lake Superior, cross-country skiing near Dorion Ontario in the backcountry and snowboarding at Lutson in Minnesota! And of course visiting with some awesome friends! An amazing week hanging out in Thunder Bay area – February 2010.
My friend Zack came to visit Newfoundland for his first time ever. We decided to make it a fun trip! We organized a road trip to St. Johns and everything else fell into place. We had a couch surfing party, went hiking Signal Hill, sight seeing at Cape Spear, live music on George Street, hiking in Gros Morne National Park, sight seeing at Salvage and little fishing villages along the coast and also got to meet the Olympic torch lady… We had an awesome trip Nov 12-18th 2009 in Newfoundland, Canada.
